The symbol of luxury and performance along with the style and a heart-robbing exterior, Bentley has given yet another super-sedan to its fans. The 2018 Bentley Flying Spur is a luxury sedan with a roaring V8 engine that comes with two different states of tunes – the mild one is rated at 505 horsepower while the spirited one is rated at 616 horsepower. For the luxury inside the cabin, the car is wrapped in leather be it seats, dashboard trim, steering wheel, and little switches or toggles. It is built in such a way that it can offer effortless performance in a matter of a few seconds.

What is new for the 2018 model?

There have been no significant changes in the 2018 model. The exterior design and the performance specs remain unchanged. However, there are a few additions to the cabin. The Flying Spur gets 21-inch wheels and dark tint headlights and taillights.

What do we like about the car?

There are a lot of points that deserve a mention in the article. Both the engines, V8 and W12 are known to offer performance without betraying their refined character. So, irrespective of the trim you select, you will be having performance at your disposal. To live up to the image that it has developed over a period of decades, the Flying Spur has a regal interior which is finished in top quality materials with soft touches to enhance the comfort. The company also gives you the freedom to customize the car based on your choice. You can add and subtract existing packages according to the performance and the level of comfort you need.

What do we not like about the car?

The cabin needs to be updated. When we talk about in-cabin technology. The rivals are light years ahead of the Flying Spur. This dated infotainment system diminishes the charm of the cabin. Furthermore, the second row of the car lacks an extravagant display – to make the rear seat experience worthy of a baron. 2018 Bentley Flying Spur price starts from $189,000.

The fuel economy of the Flying Spur is not great. But if you can afford a Bentley, then fuel expenses wouldn’t be a concern. With these high-end ultra-luxury sedans, you will not get a combined mpg of 30!  When it comes to the mileage, the Flying Spur gives an average of 13 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

How does it drive?

The steering is precise and the Flying Spur is agile for its size. The top speed of 2018 flying spur is fixed at 190 mph. However, unlike other rides, it doesn’t compromise sturdy steering with comfort. Spur’s air suspension literally glides over any road imperfections. In fact, low lumps and dips are managed in a way that someone sitting in the rear seat wouldn’t even know how’s the tarmac under the wheels. It’s a Bentley and it rides as you’d expect – supremely comfortable.

The big and burly sedan is very easy to amble around in the city and yet when you flex your right foot, the engine lets out all of the 521 horses.  You’d be surprised by how lively this engine can feel in spite of all that weight it has to haul. The 8-speed gearbox of flying spur is smooth and responsive. In city driving, its best to leave it in drive (mode) and then when you need to pull hard, the gearbox does not hesitate to drop a gear or two to give you maximum torque.
