For any student, school and high school is the time where they can completely relax and do have to stress much about their career or worry about what to do next. But once you are done with high school, the one question that will take you most of the time is what should I do next? After high school, students have to apply to different universities for their graduate programs. They need to decide which field they are in order to choose their program. For instance, if a student is into medical he or she will choose MBBS or related course and if he or she is interested in business administration, BBA or BCOM can be selected.

There are many factors to pay attention to before selecting a course. Because once you select a course, your career will flow in that direction and if you are not into that career, then it will be of no use. There is no coming back once you are done with the studies, hence, it is essential that you decide prior to choosing anything and later regretting your decision. If you choose a career that is not demanding and hardly has a scope, then there is no fun of investing your time, capital and efforts in it. Select a field has a lot of scope and is demanding. Good scope gives you better employment options and a promising career.

Job availability


The course you decided to study must have some job availability and demand in the market. If it is not demanding, then it can be difficult for you to get a job or employment. Also, if you find a job somehow, it will not provide you sufficient pay. You will start to regret your decision and it can also cause stress and anxiety. Hence, do thorough research about job availability in their respective careers. You may check online job boards that will help you determine the type of careers that are in demand and high-paying.

Skills


You need to have the necessary skills required to go to that profession. If you lack those skills, then it will be really tough for you to get into your desired career. For example, if you want to become a doctor but you faint as soon as you see blood, then that’s not going to do any help. You can do two things, either choose some other career or overcome your fear and gain the necessary skill set required to be in that profession.

Capital & Salary


Capital is the money required to be in that profession. You have to check whether you have the required money to finance your education. If you have it, then you are good to go and if you don’t, then you can look for ways to finance your study. Also, check if that is worth investing that amount of capital.

Salary


After studying your salary should be good and you must be able to recover the money you invested to pursue the course. If it is worth investing, then go for it. If the course is providing you with a great salary later on, then you must choose it. Otherwise, it can be difficult for you to survive or fulfill your other dreams later on.

Marketability


This is the utmost need to be considered while choosing a career. Yes, happiness and interest is important when you chose your career field. One should check that the profession you are using is marketable or not. As non-marketable occupations will not fulfil your professional goals if they have no scope in the market. So, if you think you have particular skill or passion, make sure that skill or talent is marketable.

Social atmosphere


Social Environment also holds great importance because there are people who are extroverts and introverts. Introverts often feel hesitated while they perform jobs which need social communication. So the introverts should opt for desk jobs rather than opting for lecturer jobs. Extroverts often love getting open in public sphere so they can do all kinds of jobs ranging from teaching to journalism and many more. So chose a career which fits with your social needs.
