Braces Friendly New Year’s Eve Dinner Recipes

It’s the holiday season, which means time is spent with family and loved ones. Presents will be exchanged across the gamut. Some of the best movies will be played on television, and music this time of the year is meant to uplift spirits. Welcoming in the New Year also means lots of New Year’s Eve dinners. The only problem that could arise with the last holiday tradition is trying to find something “braces friendly” to eat.

If you are an adult and have braces, you’ll certainly want to eat something that accommodates the tough metal inside your mouth. Especially if you are just starting your orthodontic treatment, there is nothing worse than missing out on a good meal because it is too painful to eat.

To solve this conundrum, it’s simply better you make a delicious meal all on your own that ensures itself to be braces friendly. If you’re interested in making sure you have the best New Year’s Eve dinner, here are some recipes that will not even give one ache to your braces filled mouth. And, if anything hampers your teeth during the recipe, seek help from  professional Orthodontist  like the Orthodontist in Los Angeles.

The first recipe we have is spaghettiBolognese. This braces friendly meal is simple to cook and delicious to eat. Did we mention its soft texture and ideal material won’t crush your brackets or get caught in your teeth? If you’ve ever spent time wearing braces, you’ll know that those are constant fears to be weary of when eating your favorite dish. Here is how to make this soon to be favorite meal.

First, let’s start with the ingredients. This recipe requires:

  • 2 lbs. of lean mince
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 chopped brown onion
  • 14 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 14 oz. can tomato sauce
  • Fettuccine or spaghetti pasta
  • 12 lbs. tbsp. of olive oil
  • Parmesan to serve on the top

Next, let’s look at how to cook the dish. Luckily for pasta lovers, the dish is just as easy to cook as it is to acquire the necessary ingredients.

First, you’ll need to heat the olive oil and brown garlic and onion in one large pan together. It’s important to add some mince to brown. You’ll want to do this before adding the tomato sauce. Add the crush tomatoes, but only after cooking for a few minutes. You don’t want the fresh fruit to become too soggy in the pan. Next, let the sauce simmer in the pan until it thickens and then cook the dried pasta according to the packet instructions. When it’s all done and the pasta is freshly cooked, you’ll know you made a successful spaghetti bolognese. The only thing left to do is to serve with freshly grated Parmesan.

If you’re looking to spice up this traditional recipe, you can add grated zucchini or carrots, or even some frozen spinach by adding more tomato sauce if needed. The hidden vegetables are a great method to get your kids to eat healthy food.

Next up for braces-friendly recipes are a nice recipe for potato pancakes. Potato-based foods like chips and fries can sometimes cause pain in the mouth for new braces wearers. However, this recipe will have you enjoying all the homemade goodness of baked potatoes without the pain. Additionally, a creative recipe like this will bring the entire family together for some good eats, regardless of those who are undergoing orthodontic treatment. So if you have braces, you will love this recipe.

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe include, but don’t have to be limited to these:

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of raw cubed potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ small diced onion
  • ⅛ cup of milk, preferably whole milk
  • 1 ½ tbsp. flour
  • ⅛ tsp baking powder
  • Vegetable spray for cooking

With these ingredients, you’ll have to first blend them all until they turn smooth. This should take about 30 seconds. Next, you’ll need to warm a frying pan over medium heat. Make sure to coat the pan with a thin layer of vegetable spray. Then pour one-sixth of the batter into the pan and cook for approximately two to three minutes until it starts to brown. As with normal pancakes once it browns, flip the pancake with a spatula and cook for another two minutes until both sides are golden brown. You’ll continue with this process until you have six or so potato pancakes. Afterward, you can season with salt and pepper and serve to friends and family while they are still hot. It also pairs amazingly with applesauce on the side.

Last on our list for recipes, is a superb enchilada stuffed shell recipe. This recipe is simple and perfect for any braces wearer who is craving a soft Mexican meal for New Year’s Eve. Ingredients you’ll need for the dish are as follows:

Ingredients

  • 1 can of enchilada sauce
  • 1 can of refried beans
  • Cooked hamburger meat
  • 1 packet of shredded cheese
  • Pasta shells
  • Spoonful of scallions

To start, you’ll spoon a tablespoon of enchilada sauce onto the bottom of a 9×13 pyrex dish. Then you will mix the refried beans, cooked hamburger meat and most of the shredded cheese in a separate bowl. After, you’ll spoon the beans, cheese, and meat filling into the boiled and cooled pasta shells. Next, you’ll want to place the stuffed pasta shells into the pyrex. Cover the shells with any remaining enchilada sauce and cheese. Make sure to bake the dish covered and at 350 degrees until you notice the substance becomes bubbly. Take out the dish to let it cool and top it off with chopped scallions to serve.

All three of these recipes are “braces friendly” and you won’t be left feeling like you’ve missed out on a good meal this New Year’s Eve. Wearing braces can pose a lot of problems with your diet as there are so many foods that can hurt your teeth or get stuck in the brackets. However, New Year’s Eve dinner should not be the place where you have to worry about what you can and cannot eat. You’ll have a delectable meal, and you’ll impress all your company with these braces friendly New Year’s Eve dinner recipes.
