Horrid Home Invaders: 5 Common Household Pests that Can Destroy Your Home

The signs are all there: you leave food out and a few minutes later, you see ants crawling all over it. Or you walk into your garage and you see droppings laid down in neat patterns. You know the verdict: you have active pests invading your home. You can try to fight them by yourself with natural solutions, or you can call the professionals. Professional pest control is the best way to control and exterminate any pest problem. And it’s easy to do, too!

All you have to do is type your area and “pest control” in your search engine and relevant links will pop up. For example, if you live in Scottsdale, just type “Scottsdale pest control” and you’ll find an extermination company. Pest control professionals will help you eliminate some of the most common pests that can attack and invade your home.

Ants

Ever heard of the saying ‘ants in your pants’? If so, you’re not alone. Ants are one of the most common household pests and can be found in your lawn, in pavings and also in wet or dry soil. Around 1000 species of ants exist just in North America so you can imagine how common your encounter with them would be. They swarm your food and can make your home unsafe for cooking. Plus, they bite!

Camel Crickets

These pesky bugs are also called spider crickets and they love to hide in dark and damp places. You will find them in basements, crawl spaces or even the garage. These are nesting insects and they camp out in colonies. If you see one, be prepared to see them all. These bugs love to feast on carpet, wood, cardboard and even fabric. They also eat each other! Remember to keep your de-humidifier on for maximum protection against these bugs.

Centipedes

These scary pests also prefer to hide in damp places. What’s scarier is their vampire-like nature. They only come out when it’s dark outside. If you have a centipede infestation in your home, you might stumble across one and scream. Centipedes don’t normally bother humans so don’t be too scared. If you see a bunch of legs coming towards you, just call the exterminator and run.

Roaches

Ah, the good old roach. These terrifying bugs stay in clusters and are almost impossible to kill. They really like holing up in warm and dark places so make sure you check hidey holes in your kitchen. Roaches are attracted to open food and rotting garbage so if anything will motivate you to take the trash out, it’s this. Roaches are pesky invaders and the only way to deal with them is to get professional help. Oh and they fly, too.

Fleas

Fear the fleas! Fleas love to reside anywhere they can get a constant supply of blood. If you have pets, you have a higher chance of getting a flea infestation. Fleas latch on to skin, especially pets’ skin. They stay here and are extremely hard to get rid of once they invade your home. As with all other pests, just call the exterminator on them!
