How to Study for Exams in One Month

When the exams time come, everyone becomes nervous. Students become tense, because they are under the pressure of scoring good marks. The teachers, parents, and elders, everyone expects so much from them.

But, sometimes, it becomes hard to score in the exam because students don’t get enough time to prepare for the exams when their classes were going. Most of the students try to study for the exams in just one month before the exams. Therefore, it’s more like a challenge for them to score as well as people expect from them.

Today, in this article, I will share some times about how you can study well before one month of the exams. But, that doesn’t mean you start study just before one month. It’s the best thing if you study regularly and prepare for the papers from the beginning. So, let’s start.

Calm Down

First of all, you need to calm down. Don’t panic. If you didn’t study when you had the time, then you can’t change the past. But, still you have a month. If you study properly and systemically you can do a lot.

If you take tension, then it will not help you.

Most of the students take tension, and instead of studying, they keep thinking about the results. They keep looking at the chapters which they didn’t prepare.

You don’t have to do that. By doing that, you will just waste your time.

Prioritize the Topics

In each and every subject, there will be some chapters which will be more important than others. While there will be ones which are less important than others.

You have to select the most important chapters from which you can gain maximum marks.

Just work on them. Do not go after the topics which are too long and doesn’t give you much benefits.

First of all, cover those topics which are easy, gives you more marks, and you already know about them. Therefore, after 4-5 days, you’ll be able to cover a few chapters because you already know something about them, and they were easy. This will boost your confidence, and you’ll come on the track.

Join Crash Course (If Necessary)

Sometimes, there are some topics which are small, and they have big weight age in the exam. But, we fail to do them. There are chapters which will take a lot of time to understand by self. So, it’s a good option if you join any crash course where teachers will teach you all the important chapters at a good pace so that, by the end of the month you’ll be able to cover each and every topic.

Another benefit of joining a coaching institute before the exam is that, they have mock test exams which really help us to judge the level where we stand. The teachers check those papers, and guide us where we can improve. At the coaching classes, we also get a competitive environment which encourages us to study more and more, so that we can beat them, and can score highest in the class.

If you are preparing for any popular competitive exams like SSC CGL, UGC-NET, NDA, and others, then you’ll find that, there are many popular coaching institutes which are happy to enroll you in their program at just one month before the big day.

Figure Out Study Material

If you have started studying just a month before the paper, then it’s extremely important that your study material is according to the level of your preparation.

You can’t read the study material which is designed for the students who were studying from the whole year. You should choose books which have a good amount of theory and a small number of practice questions which can be covered in a day or two because you have to cover other topics also. You can’t spend a lot of time on a single chapter.

To make the study interesting, you can use tools like flash cards. To memorize things, you can write them on a piece of paper, and then fix them on the wall where you can see it when you move from near it.

Take Breaks while Studying

Remember, you don’t have a lot of time. You have to study smarter, not harder.

Some students think that, if they keep sitting in front of the books for 2 to 3 hours, it means that they are studying more. But, it’s wrong. You should take breaks after every 45 to 60 minutes of study.

If you try to study continuously for 2-3 hours, then at the end you’ll burn out, and will not be able to read again for at least 1 hour. Along with that, your productivity will also be low. So make sure, you take necessary breaks of 10 to 15 minutes which recharges you.

While taking breaks, you can also eat something, or drink tea, juice etc. By doing that, you will get energy and it’ll help you to perform better.

Prepare Yourself for the Test

Just before the exam, organize all the necessary things which you need in the exam. Your admit card, pen, pencil, and other necessary things should be at place.

On the exam day, you should reach at the examination center at least 1 hour before the start of the paper. If you are in hurry before the exam, then you’ll forget what you’ve prepared in the tension of being late in the paper. Therefore, it’s important to reach the hall before the time, so that your mind will settle down, and the only thing which you’re going to do is cracking the exam.

Final Words

Yes, it’s possible to score good marks by studying just one month before the final paper. But, we recommend that, you start study from the beginning so that you’ll not get any pressure. Whatever you can do in 6 or 8 months, it’s obvious that, you can’t do that in just 1 month.

So, if you’ve any questions, then feel free to write in the comments section.
