Here are some ideas to get you started of some pretty incredible activities, experiences and views.

Go Dogsledding

Dogsledding is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us. Travelling across the wilderness with a pack of dogs leading the way is a really memorable form of transport, and one that you can experience in different parts of the world during their colder months including places in the North of Canada, Alaska and more.

It’s a bit of adventure that’s not just about the dogs – you can experience some beautiful landscapes while traversing the snow. It definitely beats your typical bus ride or daily commute!

Play Blackjack at a casino

If you’ve never visited a casino before, now’s the time to give it a visit! Casino are fun atmospheres and are a great entertainment experience. Blackjack is one of the oldest games out there, so if you’ve been stuck to slot machines it’s worth giving it a go! Play some online blackjack in advance to get prepared before you head to a land-based casino to try for a big win!

Trek for gorillas

Gorillas are some of the most beautiful mammals on this planet, and one of the best ways to see them is in Uganda as part of a guided trek through the jungle. The national forest parks in the country are home to some incredible families of gorillas. It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity if you ever get the chance and one for the bucket list!

Enjoy a European Christmas Market

There’s nothing that can get you into the holiday spirit more than a Christmas Market – and the one’s across Europe are some of the best in the world. Why not try a visit to the Advent Feast at the Bascilica in Budapest? Or the Basel Christmas Market in Switzerland? Or the Vienna Magic of Advent (one of the most well-known out there!).

With so many to choose from on different weeks in the lead-up to the big celebration, it may be worth booking in a few. You’ll return home feeling more Christmass-y than ever before!

Drive the Route 66

Probably one of the most iconic and popular road trips of all time is a drive across the Route 66 in the United States. This 2,400 mile route going from Chicago to Santa Monica is filled with motels, diners, roadside attractions and all you might expect across one of the big US highways.

Be sure to bring a camera with you, and take photos as you go of your incredible journey!

Go Diving in the Great Barrier Reef

Sat alongside the Queensland coastline, the Great Barrier Reef is home to an amazing array of reefs, fish, coral and islands too. It’s one that’s on many scuba divers’ bucket lists – and a truly incredible experience for those who love nature.

Visit every continent

There’s seven of them, and how many of us can say that we’ve visited them all? Many cruises now route to the Antarctica, so you can experience it from the comfort of a luxury boat.

Live in a foreign country

Another one that will give you some great bragging rights is to live in a foregin country. Travelling is incredible but actually spending more than a few weeks in one place and having to navigate building a life there is another. You’ll really get immersed in the culture, language, lifestyle and ways of working somewhere else if you’ve lived there for an extended period of time.

It’s definitely an experience like no other and likely on many people’s bucket lists as something to try at least one in their lifetime!

Go skydiving

Skydiving is a popular choice for a bucket list, possibly because it’s also a big fear for many people. And it makes sense: jumping out of a plane isn’t something that many of have experienced, and even goes against common sense! That being said, skydiving is actually quite a safe activity, and is quite low-risk when it comes to the statistics. You’re more likely to die from being stung by a bee or struck by lightening than to face fatality from a skydive!

That doesn’t mean it’s not scary – but it’s a chance to tick a further box off the bucket list: conquer a fear. It’s certainly a moment that you’ll remember – and many skydiving tours can even capture a photo of you while doing it!
